Summary of If You're the You That I Knew

In New York, a younger Nico is approached by Fuuko, who asks him to join in slaying God. Nico promptly shuts the door, but she states he will listen to what she has to say as Move appears behind her. As he goes back to smoke on his couch, Fuuko walks through his door using Move, causing him to drop his cigarette in surprise. As Nico stares dumbfounded at what just occurred, Fuuko tries to put out the fire caused by his cigarette. After an explanation, Nico states that he doesn't want to believe any of what Fuuko told her, stating that as a scientist, the idea of the rules that make up the world are changed by the whims of some god sickens him. However, as a scientist, he will not run away from the unknown, and forces himself to believe Fuuko's words so that science can reach an answer. Fuuko is overjoyed at this, stating she knew Nico wouldn't have changed from the last loop, though it leaves to a misunderstanding that he and her were dating. Fuuko then unfurls her roadmap again, explaining about the tragedies each Negator have when first awakening their abilities, and the plan to prevent them the first being Gina. After Nico gets upset over Unchange's existence making a mockery of physics, Fuuko states that by saving Gina and adding her to the team, they can save more and more allies. Because not everyone has manifested their Negator powers yet, only Nico's scientific knowledge can serve as a substitute and allow him to believe her. Nico then asks what happens to him in the future, but Fuuko states she can't say anything, under fear that he will distance himself from Ichico and will never develop further, as well as never having Mico. Fuuko then goes on to tearfully ask him to trust her and the allies they're about to save, and he will be the happiest he has been in any loop, causing him to trust her, but states she better save him. Because Akira was an exception due to Unknown being included in the G-Liner, to actually save Gina, who will awaken her ability and kill forty thousand people by asphyxiation, they will need "a device from the future", Nico's Psycho Pods.
